Happy New Years

With the New Year just around the corner, it’s a time for fresh starts. The New Year holds such promise. Resolutions are made with the great hope they will last. It’s a chance to become MORE: more svelte, more productive, more popular. There is a rejection of the status quo. We rethink our jobs, our colleagues, our friends.

I’m not good at resolutions. I’ve stopped making them after countless years of broken promises but I’m seriously thinking about restarting the tradition. If we just focus on falling short of our resolutions then, yes, they probably are a wasted exercise. But if we hold onto the hope, the promise, then falling short is just a learning exercise. If we hold onto the possibilities then we hold onto the excitement. Life becomes a series of opportunities, sometimes challenging, true, but there is always a possibility for making life better.

As the holidays are here, I urge you to use them as a time for growth. I have so many wishes for the coming year. I want to be and stay well. I want to announce to everyone I have overcome my struggles and are ready to take on the world! I want to reach out to others and help them reach their potential. The last year-and-a-half has been ridiculously rough but I’m ready to pick myself up, dust myself off and face what the year sends me with my head held high. I’m going to hold onto the hope, the promise, the possibilities. 2019 bring it on!!!
